Home staging companies in Barcelona
Home staging in Barcelona is the step between "the flat is empty or full of the owner's things" and "the listing is live". The aim is that a buyer or tenant scrolling through photos stops on yours. A stager clears away the clutter, fixes small defects, chooses neutral colours and adds just enough furniture and textiles to show how each room is used.
Picture this: an owner in Poblenou has a bright but dated two-bedroom flat with a lot of old furniture. Photos taken as it stands make the rooms look smaller than they are. A day of styling and a photo session makes them readable, and the agent can present the living room as a living room. Whether that is worth the cost is a question for you and your agent, who sees which viewings you get.
Be careful with the term "home staging" on this page, because Google does not have a clean category for it. Very few of the 172 businesses listed here are pure stagers. Most are interior designers, reform studios and architects that also style flats. That is why we recommend reading the Google categories on each profile before you call.
What does home staging cost and how is it priced?
We will not give a price, because quotes vary by flat size, furniture and how long the furniture stays, and we could not confirm a published tariff we would stand behind. What we can tell you is how providers structure the price, so you can compare like with like.

The questions that matter most are how long the furniture stays and who pays for transport. Staging with rented furniture typically has a monthly cost that continues until the flat sells, so a fast sale is cheaper than a slow one.
Interior designers in Barcelona
An interior designer works for the person who will live in the flat, not for the next buyer. The job is a personal one: layout, lighting, kitchens and bathrooms, custom furniture, and often the reform itself. In this list you will see studios from Sarrià to Poblenou that do residential interiors and full reforms, and several of them also have a showroom.
The distinction matters for how you pay. A designer is selected for taste and works over weeks or months; a stager is chosen for speed and market judgment and works for days. If you plan to live in the flat for years, you want a designer. If you plan to sell or rent it within months, you want staging, and an expensive reform is usually wasted. When the works change the layout, you also need an architect for the project and the licence, and some of the firms listed here are both.
When does staging help a sale or a rental?
Staging pays off when presentation is the weak point. It is most useful for empty flats, which look cold and small online, for flats in good condition with dated or heavy furnishing, and for premium listings where buyers compare many similar flats. For luxury real estate it is often standard, as the buyers expect it.
It is less useful when price is the issue, or when a flat is well presented already. A tenant does not need staging in most mid-market rentals. A good agent will tell you honestly whether it is worth doing, so ask your real estate agent before you pay for anything. If you are still choosing one, our page on that explains how to compare them.
Before you stage, fix the paperwork. The energy label has to appear in every sale or rental advertisement under Royal Decree 390/2021, and the Generalitat states the habitability certificate is needed to sell or rent. Both are quicker to organise than a staging job, and a listing that is styled but missing them will stall.
What is virtual staging, and is it enough?
Virtual staging adds furniture to photos with software. It is cheaper and faster than physical staging and works for empty rooms, but it cannot help the viewing itself. A buyer who walks into an empty room after seeing a furnished photo may feel misled, so label virtual images clearly in the listing and keep one or two real photos of the empty room.
Our rule of thumb: virtual staging for a flat you will sell quickly or rent at a standard level, physical staging for a premium flat where viewings matter. Some property photography studios also offer virtual staging, so ask about it if you want a combined photography and staging quote.
Our shortlist: who to compare first
These picks come from the ranked list and its data. We have not used any of them, so treat them as starting points.
- For design plus architecture in Les Corts: INSIGHT INTERIORISME. 4.9 stars from 59 reviews, filed by Google as an interior designer, architecture firm and remodeler.
- For a full reform plus interiors: Baltimore Group. 5 stars from 54 reviews, with a showroom in Gràcia. It describes a single project manager and a closed budget.
- For interior design with a technical team: ERA architects. 5 stars from 166 reviews, the most reviewed 5-star practice in the top ten, offering architecture, interior design and construction.
- For reform and interiors in the north of the city: Ebae Interiorisme. 4.9 stars from 111 reviews in Nou Barris, describing a family business rooted in building and refurbishment.
- For a smaller decoration studio: Home Deco. 5 stars from 50 reviews in Sarrià, offering decoration, interior design and full reforms.
How do I choose a stager or designer?
Ask for before and after photos of flats like yours, a written quote, and the removal terms. If the provider is a designer, ask whether they have staged a flat for sale, because that is a different skill from designing for a client. A good stager talks about buyers; a good designer talks about you.
Red flags: a price that is "all included" with no list, a furniture contract with no end date, and promises that staging will raise the price by a stated percentage. We have seen no figure we could verify, so we do not quote one.
Where are they based?
The list follows where the money and the old flats are. Of the 172 businesses, Eixample has 62, Sarrià-Sant Gervasi 45 and Gràcia 18. For a flat in Eixample, you will have the widest choice. If you describe your flat and timing on the form, the site can match you with stagers and designers that work in your district.
